When you feel stuck in patterns that do not make sense, there is usually a reason. Many of the people Kaitlin works with have been carrying something for a long time. On the outside, they may look capable, successful, and like they are holding everything together. Underneath, they may feel anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in the same relationship patterns, or exhausted from trying to manage emotions that feel confusing or disproportionate.

Some clients come to therapy knowing their experiences are connected to trauma. Others simply know that something is not shifting, even after years of insight, self-reflection, or trying to “work on themselves.” Kaitlin helps clients slow down and make sense of what may be happening underneath the symptoms, especially when old wounds, attachment patterns, or survival strategies continue to shape how they relate to themselves and others.

Kaitlin’s work goes beyond symptom management. She supports clients in understanding how their past experiences, family systems, relationships, and protective patterns have shaped the way they move through the world. Her approach is compassionate, relational, and trauma-informed, with a focus on helping clients feel safer within themselves, more connected in their relationships, and more able to respond to life from a grounded place rather than from old survival patterns.

Kaitlin has a particular interest in complex trauma, attachment wounds, relational patterns, and the parts of ourselves that develop in response to pain, fear, or unmet needs. She draws from EMDR, Narrative Therapy, parts work, family systems, attachment-based therapy, and nature-based therapy, depending on what best supports each client.

Kaitlin has completed EMDRIA-approved EMDR training, including the standard eight-phase protocol, and has additional training in integrating parts work with EMDR. She has also completed foundational training in Narrative Therapy through the Vancouver School for Narrative Therapy, training in Nature-Based Therapy through the Human-Nature Counselling Society, and Levels 1 and 2 Family Systems training. Kaitlin is also currently completing an Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy externship through ICEEFT, deepening her work with attachment needs, emotional responsiveness, and relational healing.

Alongside her professional training, Kaitlin brings lived experience that informs the depth, care, and humanity she offers in this work. She understands that healing is not simply about learning coping tools, but about being met with compassion, making sense of what has happened, and creating new possibilities for how life and relationships can feel.
