Dr. Przemyslaw Kaczmarek (you can call him Shemek) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who works with individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of challenges—including anxiety, relationship struggles, trauma, stress, and more. Known for his grounded and compassionate presence, Shemek offers a supportive and non-judgmental space where clients can explore difficult emotions and develop healthier ways of coping and connecting.
He takes an integrative and client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. His work is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and never one-size-fits-all. At the core of his approach is a strong therapeutic relationship—Shemek believes that real healing begins with trust, safety, and rapport.
In addition to his general clinical practice, Shemek has experience supporting adults with neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism. His goal is always to meet people where they are, adapting the process to each individual’s pace, needs, and goals.
His background includes working extensively with individuals who have experienced significant early life trauma, including survivors of sexual abuse. In that role, he provided both therapeutic support and practical guidance in accessing services and building a foundation for recovery.
Shemek holds a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and a Doctorate (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University.
